Our staff delivers emergency shelter, transitional housing, permanent housing solutions, outreach, case management, youth services, and ongoing trauma-informed support across Pueblo County.

Board Officers

Michelle Randall
Treasurer
Michelle Randall serves as Treasurer on the Posada Board of Directors, bringing deep experience supporting multisystem-involved youth and families throughout the community. With more than 14 years of dedicated service at Sangre de Cristo Hospice, Michelle is known for her compassion, steadiness, and commitment to caring for vulnerable individuals with dignity and respect. Outside of her professional work, her greatest pride and accomplishment is being the mother of two boys, a role that continues to ground and inspire her dedication to community service.

Matthew Schumacher
Vice President
Matthew Schumacher serves as a Paralegal and Veterans Treatment Court Liaison at the Public Defender’s Office, where he combines legal expertise with a deep commitment to advocacy and justice. Originally from South Florida, Matthew has proudly called Pueblo—often referred to as the Home of Heroes—home since 2018. Guided by the belief that housing is a fundamental necessity for a stable and fulfilling life, Matthew brings both passion and purpose to his role as Vice President of the Posada Board of Directors. He is continually inspired by the dedication of Posada’s staff, whose tireless work supports the community’s most vulnerable individuals and families. Beyond his professional and board service, Matthew is an engaged community member who coaches lacrosse at Pueblo West High School. He also enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, son, and their three beloved “fur babies,” embracing the balance of service, family, and community that defines his approach to leadership.

Bob Hudson
President
Bob Hudson is the President of the Posada Board of Directors, offering strategic insight and community engagement. As the Marketing Development Manager for CommonSpirit Health in southern Colorado, he collaborates with providers and partners, enhancing his contributions to Posada's mission. He is dedicated to addressing housing insecurity and supporting families in transition, known for his collaborative problem-solving and commitment to sustainable solutions in Pueblo. In his free time, Bob enjoys traveling, running, scuba diving, and spending time with loved ones.

Ashley Valdez
Member at Large
Ashley Valdez is the Area Manager of Community & Local Government Affairs at Xcel Energy in Southern Colorado, with over 29 years in the utility sector. She has worked in both investor-owned and electric cooperative environments. She has overseen various projects in customer operations and community engagement, showcasing her skills in public relations, communications, corporate sponsorships, and brand development.​
Locally, she is on the Pueblo Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, serving as Chairwoman in 2021 and 2023. Valdez also serves on the boards of the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, Action Colorado, and POSADA. Recently, she was Campaign Chair for the Pueblo County United Way in 2023 and 2024.

Rachel Schulman
Secretary
Rachel Shulman serves as a Senior Vice President at PB&T Bank, bringing more than 20 years of banking experience and a deep commitment to the Pueblo community she calls home. Known for her collaborative leadership and people-centered approach, Rachel is passionate about strengthening local relationships and supporting Pueblo’s continued growth. A Pueblo native, Rachel graduated with honors from the University of Southern Colorado with dual degrees in History and Political Science. Her career has spanned education and corporate leadership, ultimately leading her to a long-term calling in community banking. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. She is widely recognized for building genuine connections—both in the workplace and throughout the community.

Crystal Archeletta
Board Member
Crystal Archeletta is a Colorado native, mother, grandmother, and community advocate with a lived understanding of the challenges facing individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability. Her personal journey through hardship, recovery, and stability informs her compassionate and accountable approach to service.

Through her work with Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado’s Works Program and her broader community involvement, Crystal helps create pathways to employment, recovery, and long-term self-sufficiency. She brings to the Posada Board a deep commitment to dignity, opportunity, and hope, grounded in the belief that lasting change is possible when people are supported with respect and care.

Yanera McCulley
Board Member
Yanera McCulley is the owner and operator of Angelus Chapel and Mortuary. Together with her family and dedicated staff, she goes above and beyond to ensure that each family's needs are met, providing support during their time of grief after losing a loved one. Yanera is widely recognized for her genuine kindness and empathy, particularly in her efforts to assist community members facing difficult times. Yanera actively participates in numerous community organizations, including the NAACP, PAACO, Posada, The Boys and Girls Club, the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation, and the Pueblo Central High School Foundation. She exemplifies integrity, and the Pueblo community relies on her commitment to doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

LaShawnda Padilla
Board Member
LaShawnda Padilla is a dedicated community advocate with more than 20 years of experience in lending and a strong commitment to expanding access to safe, affordable housing. Through her work with Posada, she helps individuals and families access stable housing while responding thoughtfully to community needs.

As the wife of a veteran, LaShawnda brings a personal perspective to the challenges military families face. A longtime member of the Pueblo community, she has also served for several years as East Booster President, reflecting her deep dedication to youth, families, and local engagement. Her work is guided by a belief in strong communities, meaningful service, and lasting impact.

Leadership & Administration

Kim Bowman
Executive Director
Kim Bowman’s leadership reflects a deep belief that strong communities are built through trust, persistence, and shared purpose. Throughout her nonprofit career, she has championed the idea that lasting community improvement requires investment not only in programs, but in people and relationships. Each challenge reinforced that sustainable change happens when local strengths are recognized, supported, and elevated. Kim has consistently focused on creating opportunities for vulnerable individuals by removing barriers and opening pathways to education, employment, and long-term stability. She believes the most meaningful progress comes from partnerships that balance compassion with accountability, and from leadership that blends clear vision with humility and adaptability. Over 34 years of service, Kim has seen how small victories—multiplied over time—create lasting impact for individuals and families. Her work in advocacy and service has always been grounded in equity and inclusion, guided by the enduring lesson that empowering people ultimately transforms entire communities.

Lili Avalos
Development Director
Lili Avalos joined Posada in December 2017 as the Business Grants Manager and transitioned to Program Grants Manager in July 2018. In September 2019, she was promoted to Development Director, expanding her leadership in Posada’s fundraising and development efforts. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from CSU Pueblo and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in Colorado Springs. Lili brings more than 20 years of grant management experience, gained through a 30-year career with the 10th Judicial District and eight years with Pueblo County Housing and Human Services as a Grants Monitor. She has also served as a Community Advocate and a Department of Social Services Case Manager, contributing to her extensive knowledge in community support and grants administration. At Posada, Lili is dedicated to securing underwriting for the organization’s housing and supportive services. She maintains statistical reporting and communications with grant funders, monitors the reporting system for data quality—including HMIS—and develops outcome data shared with donors. In addition to her development and grants responsibilities, she assists with donor acknowledgments.
Supportive Services & Case Management

LaTanya Yarbrough
Support Services & Case Manager
LaTanya Yarbrough is a devoted mother of five adult children, a proud grandmother of seven, and currently a loving caregiver to two of her grandchildren. In addition to her professional commitments, she is deeply involved in the care of her own mother, embodying multi-generational strength, compassion, and leadership. For more than 26 years, LaTanya has been a cornerstone of Posada, where she currently manages two of the organization’s core programs. Her dedication extends beyond daily operations into the heart of the community, where she plays an active role in signature events including the Posada Picnic, Veterans Stand Down, Back to School initiatives, and Juneteenth celebrations. In recognition of her lifelong service and impact, LaTanya was honored by the NAACP as one of Pueblo’s Extraordinary Black Women—an award that reflects her unwavering commitment to family, community, and justice.

Melinda Lucero
Rental Assistance Case Manager
Melinda Lucero leads Posada’s Tenant-Based Assistance case management, supporting individuals and families in securing safe and stable housing.
She provides direct case management and helps clients access short-term grants and resources that promote housing. Melinda has worked at Posada for five years,
following a long career in the dental field. She brings a practical, client-centered approach focused on stability and long-term success.​ Her work is grounded in collaboration, consistency, and respect for each client’s individual needs.

Josette Garcia
Program Manager
Josette Garcia has worked with Posada since 2012, where she has developed a deep passion for supporting non-sheltered individuals and improving the quality of life through compassionate services. Highly organized and detail-driven, she brings extensive experience in tracking spend-downs, managing budgets, and maintaining accurate client documentation. Josette also plays an important role in supporting audits and ensuring complete financial accountability. Her long-standing commitment reflects Posada’s mission to create meaningful, lasting change in the Pueblo community.
Housing Stability & Property Management

Veronica Gold
Housing Stability Manager
Veronica Gold began her education at Pueblo Community College, earning an Associate of Arts degree in 2012, and later completed her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Colorado State University–Pueblo. During her internship with Posada, she discovered a deep passion for helping others and joined the organization part-time in 2014, transitioning to a full-time role in 2015. Veronica currently administers Posada’s Rapid Rehousing and Permanent Supportive Housing programs, providing strengths-based case management that supports individuals and families on their path toward stability and independence. She also represents Posada and the Pueblo community on the Balance of State Continuum of Care Governing Board and serves on Pueblo’s Coordinated Entry Committee, working to improve access to housing for the community’s most vulnerable populations. Grounded in compassion, empathy, and collaboration, Veronica is deeply committed to helping individuals and families overcome barriers and thrive.

Katie Schilling
Leasing & Property Manager
Katie Schilling brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit housing and is deeply committed to serving the community with compassion, accountability, and a belief in housing as a true pathway to opportunity. She specializes in LIHTC, HOME, and federal housing programs, with expertise in compliance, asset management, and strategic development initiatives that support vulnerable populations, including veterans and families in crisis. Her work is driven by a passion for creating safe, sustainable, and dignified housing through strong partnerships with local agencies, funders, and service providers. Katie is known for her collaborative approach, thoughtful stewardship of resources, and high standards of regulatory excellence. Above all, she believes housing is the foundation for stability and opportunity and remains committed to expanding access for those who need it most.

Chris Philafas
Construction Management Specialist
Chris Philafas works as an Asset Management and Construction Management Specialist at Posada, where he oversees a 32-unit affordable housing community. In this capacity, he handles tenant relations, leasing, maintenance coordination, and financial reporting, ensuring the property functions smoothly and promotes long-term housing stability. He has a solid background in property management, affordable housing development, and project oversight. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University Pueblo and takes pride in being a Colorado native.

Bridget Goldsmith McKee
Community Engagement Manager
Bridget McKee serves as Community Engagement Manager, where she strengthens relationships between Posada and partners throughout Pueblo. She brings a background in entrepreneurship, event coordination, and clear communication to support mission-driven engagement and outreach.

A newer member of the Southern Colorado region, Bridget is committed to learning from local leaders and supporting efforts that strengthen local areas. She has immersed herself in Pueblo’s colorful history and works closely with partners to advance shared goals. Her work focuses on amplifying the values that support Posada’s mission. Grounded in compassion, she believes attainable housing is the foundation for a thriving community.

LeAnn Aumiller
Staff Accountant
LeAnn Aumiller serves as Posada’s Staff Accountant and has been a valued member of the team for the past 1.5 years. With 13 years of prior experience as a Practice Administrator, she brings extensive knowledge in financial operations, organization, and accountability. LeAnn is committed to supporting Posada’s mission by helping ensure the organization’s resources are managed responsibly in service of the Pueblo community. Her steady, behind-the-scenes work plays an important role in strengthening the programs that support individuals and families on their path to stability.
